WK London came to play

Sam Brookes and Lucy Collier from Wieden + Kennedy London paid us a visit in Portland today!  A few UO ad. kids and I had the wonderful opportunity to spend the afternoon learning from and collaborating with these two amazing thought leaders.  As always, great strategic thinking and great working coming from WK London.  Keep your eyes open for great things from UO ad kids this year as well…

Unexpected (but exciting!) New Addition…

When the news first came, I was slightly in shock and caught off guard – this type of event certainly doesn’t happen every day.

However, once the news settled and I overcame the initial shock, my excitement began to rise as I thought about what would be in store over the course of the next nine months…

………………..

New macs!!!! (=  When Megan and I walked into Ballmer, to our surprise, we opened the door to a room full of brand new computers!!!  So…thank you J. school and he’re to a year…of great work?…or something like that…

Break Dancing

One of the great things about attending the University of Oregon is the opportunity to attend events of all sorts: lectures, dances, movies, speeches, etc. This past Friday, the U of O hosted a break dance battle which included groups from all over Oregon and Washington. Although I am (clearly) not a break dancer, I can appreciate and respect this truly amazing form of expression. Here is one of the videos I took throughout the night. (If you want to see the other five videos, just hop on you tube and you’ll find them there!!)

rent-a-pooch

In an attempt to raise awareness and money for the Humane Society, the “rent-a-pooch” event took place this past week at the University of Oregon. For $5, students could rent a puppy to play with for 15 minute intervals. Word of the event spread quickly, and by 12 pm, the puppies were completely booked for the rest of the afternoon!
